Dubai Exports and Coface sign MOU to promote export and trade in UAE
Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of the Department of Economic Development – Government of Dubai, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Coface, the Compagnie Française d'Assurance pour le Commerce Extérieur, for co-operation in promoting trade and export.
The ceremony was attended by Engineer Saed Al Awadi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Exports, and Mr. Massimo Falcioni, Head of Middle East Countries at Coface, and Mr. Gregory Le Henand, Country Manager GCC countries at Coface Emirates Services.
As part of the partnership, Dubai Exports attended the Coface Country Risk Conference discussion to promote international dialogue on trade and export. The Dubai Exports CEO participated as keynote speaker for the event, held as part of the Global Trade Development Week on 27th of October at the Ritz Carlton DIFC.
Eng. Al Awadi commented: "We are delighted that Coface would be working closely with us to facilitate businesses in the UAE to grow internationally through the diverse services and networks that COFACE is renowned for. We look forward to an exciting relationship that will bring new and emerging markets closer to Dubai and its exporters.
Mr. Massimo Falcioni, said: “We are proud to be associated with Dubai Exports, to support the Emirate’s position as a global trade hub and contribute to the solid economic momentum in the UAE. Partnering with Dubai Export will enable Coface to provide business information to all UAE exporters, leveraging on both its local and global multinational credit risk management expertise, together with its presence in 99 countries and a data base of more than 65 million companies worldwide. This MOU is a tribute to the role of Dubai Exports in facilitating and promoting exports out of Dubai.”
Mr. Gregory Le Henand added: “The key pillar of the MoU is to provide industry expertise and country information to Dubai Exports, which is undertaking the important role of further connecting UAE companies with trading partners across the globe. This joint initiative of Dubai Exports and Coface is mainly to support local businesses, especially SMEs, to develop in international markets”.
The UAE, and in particular Dubai, is a trading hub with excellent connectivity to worldwide markets, and increasing number of local businesses are capitalizing on this advantage and exploring new markets. The challenge remains for companies to choose the right export destinations with a conducive trading environment as well as identifying potential quality buyers.
